3 October 2012 | Workshop | English | Palau de Pedralbes, Barcelona

Officials from the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean and Euro-Mediterranean think tanks discuss the prospects for the multilateral framework of Euro-Mediterranean relations as a consequence of the political transformations in the region. They also analyse the role of the Union for the Mediterranean and its Secretariat and their contribution in the new political context in the Southern shore and the economic crisis in the north. In addition, they provide the state of play of UfM-led projects in order to identify the most promising areas of sectorial cooperation and ways to uphold democratic reform through specific projects.

The seminar offers several sessions on the prospects for the multilateral framework of Euro-Mediterranean relations as a consequence of the political transformations in the region, as well as the state of play of UfM-led projects in the fields of economy and transport, Energy, Education and civil society.

The event gathers experts from different think tanks of the region, as well as stakeholders, institutional representatives and actors from the civil society.
