VIII North African Business and Development Forum21 November 2011- 22 November 2011 | Conference | English | Llotja de Mar, Barcelona
The Mediterranean Economic Leaders’ Week concludes with more than 50 parallel sessions and events, with more than 1,500 participants from 20 countries and 200 speakers at the highest level.
While major social and economic changes are taking place in the region, Barcelona Week confirms the need for an integrated approach to the economic and social development of the region. It also highlights that now the need to strengthen Euro-Mediterranean cooperation through the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) is more important than ever, to ensure inclusive economic development. For this reason, the UfM and ASCAME sign a collaboration agreement to ensure the involvement of the private sector in the economic and social development of the region.
Miquel Valls, President of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, and Senén Florensa, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Generalitat and President of the Delegate Commission of the IEMed, take part in the closing ceremony. The IEMed collaborates in the Week, where it organizes the VIII North Africa Business and Development Forum.
