Salma El Moumni grew up in Tangier and later moved to France to study at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Her latest book, to be released in Spanish this year, is a literary outcry titled “Adieu Tanger.” It delves into the condition of young women and the weight of traditions, questioning the destructive power of the male gaze, intimacy, freedom, and exile. Her debut fiction work, “Una oración sin Dios,” challenges common perceptions surrounding migration and the Moroccan population in Catalonia.
Omnia l’Bakkali
Despite not intending to write about racism and immigration, Omnia l’Bakkali changed her mind at the last minute. Her book, “Un far a tres minuts de casa,” is a self-fictional narrative addressing racism from extreme forms to those that go unnoticed, drawing from experiences of immigrant children.
Sara Touri el Mansouri, a social educator, published her first book of short fiction stories based on real events, titled “Desenllaços. Identitat, dol migratori i racisme,” in 2022.
The four writers participate in the round-table “Gender and new identities” moderated by philogist and cultural manager Mireia Estrada. Previously, they participate in two Book Club Workshops with a restricted audience.
