Mediterranean Day 2026 Concert
26 November 2026. From 20:00 To 22:00 | Cultural activity | English | Arabic | Catalan | Spanish | Saló del Tinell, Barcelona
“Paths of Life”, the proposal for the Day of the Mediterranean 2026, is a production conceived specifically for the occasion. With a strong theatrical and symbolic dimension, it unfolds as an encounter between cultures, in which the voices of women serve as the connecting thread.
Women—and the feminine figure—take center stage in this concert; they are the conduits through which languages, songs, memories, and traditions have been passed down over the centuries. We have brought together five prominent performers with distinguished international careers—leading voices within their respective musical traditions: Waed Bouhassoun (Syria), Firoozeh Raeesdana (Iran), Hend Zouari (Tunisia), Clémence Gabrielidis (Greece), and Judit Neddermann (Catalonia). They are joined by the Aglepta girls’ choir, which reminds us of the power of the collective and of cooperation rooted in diversity.
The concert is part of the Mediterranean Day, an annual opportunity to highlight cultural exchanges and regional cooperation, embracing the diversity and richness of the Mediterranean. The day was created to commemorate Mediterranean heritage and promote dialogue between cultures and peoples of the region. It is organised by the Union for the Mediterranean, the European Institute of the Mediterranean, Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia, and the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation. This year also marks the 30th anniversary of the birth of the Barcelona Process in the Catalan capital.
