International Conference on Heritage in the Mediterranean

A conference organised by the IEMed and the Institute of Catalan Studies (IEC), on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition The Mediterranean: A Sea of Heritage.
This gathering will bring together leading international experts who will highlight the significance and relevance of shared heritage in the Mediterranean—one of the most important and diverse concentrations of heritage elements recognised and protected on a global scale. Several projects aimed at its conservation will also be presented, and reflections will be shared on the impact of climate and sociopolitical crises on heritage preservation.
The exhibition The Mediterranean: A Sea of Heritage, organised by IEMed and the inspiration for this initiative, will be inaugurated at the end of the conference and will remain open until October 2025 at the IEC headquarters. The exhibition offers a visual journey through UNESCO’s heritage legacy in the region and is supported by Mondiacult 2025.
