Institutional Event on the Occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the IEMed

2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the creation of the Catalan Institute of Mediterranean Studies, the predecessor of the current European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed). Since its creation, on February 16, 1989, the Institute has developed a vast program of action based on a rigorous work of approach, study and dissemination of the complex Mediterranean reality always with the goal and commitment to contribute to stability, progress, cooperation and dialogue in the region.

Its action during these 25 years and the fidelity to this commitment, which it shares with Barcelona, ​​Catalonia and Spain, have made it an international reference entity for the study and promotion of ideas and projects for the construction of the Euro-Mediterranean region. Through its action, the IEMed has ended up consolidating itself as a think-tank specialized in Mediterranean relations, working with a multidisciplinary and networking approach to develop a wide range of projects, events, research programs, publications and cultural activities.

In these 25 years, it has programmed 1,540 activities, including 1,079 forums, congresses, international seminars, round tables, colloquia, workshops and debates, 130 cultural activities and more than 50 exhibitions. On the other hand, he has published 267 publications.

On the occasion of this anniversary, the IEMed is organizing a program of conferences, debates, seminars, concerts and films.
