Is peace possible?
10 May 2024. From 12:00 | Presentation | Spanish | Universidad Nebrija - Salón de Actos del Campus de Madrid-Princesa (Calle Santa Cruz de Marcenado, 27)The Hamas attacks of October 7 and Israel’s response in Gaza have once again put Palestine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict among the top priorities of the international community.
After six months of war in Gaza, Israel is preparing an offensive in Rafah while negotiations encounter difficulties even in reaching agreements that will relieve the battered civilian population in Gaza. In a crucial year due to the elections to the European Parliament and the US presidential elections, while the conflict in Ukraine persists, regional and global political actors have a key role in achieving a peace that is fair for Palestinian citizens and that gives security to Israel.
The European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), the Fundación Análisis de Política Exterior, co-editors of the magazine afkar/ideas, and the Nebrija University organise this event on the occasion of the presentation of afkar/ideas 71, a monographic issue dedicated to the conflict in Gaza.
