Access to adequate, safe, and affordable housing remains one of the most pressing challenges for Mediterranean cities. In this session, Luciana Pacucci, Project Manager at Fondazione Housing Sociale, will explore how innovative housing models can expand access to quality living environments while strengthening social cohesion.

Drawing on pioneering projects developed across Italy, Pacucci will highlight how social housing can go beyond affordability to integrate shared spaces, community services, and participatory design; transforming housing into a driver of urban inclusion. From urban regeneration initiatives to co-housing schemes and experimental affordable housing programmes, these approaches demonstrate how public-private collaboration and design innovation can help address housing shortages while improving quality of life.

With extensive experience in architectural design, urban development, and social housing, Luciana Pacucci brings an international and practice-oriented perspective to the future of inclusive living. Her work combines architectural quality, urban feasibility, and sustainability, contributing to housing models that prioritise collective spaces, community wellbeing, and long-term urban resilience.

First session of the Med Dialogues + 2030 6th edition.

At the Palau Macaya, Pg. de Sant Joan, 108, Barcelona.
