Presentation Seminar, in Tunis, of the Second Cycle of the Project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Actors Working for Equality”
8 December 2016 | Workshop | French | TunisThe aim of the seminar held in Tunis is to present the second cycle of the Axis 1 of the project “Women for the future in the Mediterranean”, inscribed within the Priority Solidarity Fund, funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, and led by the IEMed. This first Axis is titled “Strengthening the capacity of the actors working for equality”. Each one-year cycle of the Axis aims to create seven “local clusters” in seven countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine and Tunisia), to address specific issues regarding gender equality.
The Tunis seminar serves to introduce the territories in the second cycle, present the associations responsible for leading each of the clusters, and the activities planned; validate the instruments with which the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation intends to facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the clusters’ activities; and exchange results and good practices with the associations that were part of the first cycle of the project. The second cycle focuses on the following topics: women’s entrepreneurship; women, local governance and political responsibilities; prostitution and the working conditions of women in factories.
