The conflict in the Middle East is one of the longest and most enduring. It is also one of the most mediatic conflicts with the greatest international attention, of which the most has been written or said. But nevertheless, the role of non-violent struggle is hardly mentioned.

Non-violence as a way of facing a situation of injustice and trying to change it is not something new: it exists from the very origin of said injustices and the appearance of movements or people that try to change them. But non-violence as a subject of study and analysis, in order to give it a systematization and improve its understanding and application, it is relatively recent, from the beginning of the 20th century. About the same time that the occupation of Palestine has taken place, and, therefore, the time that different forms of resistance to the occupation have existed.

Understanding nonviolent dynamics in Palestine helps us understand the fundamentals of nonviolence in general linked to the way we understand social transformation.
