Visit of Foreign Affairs Minister José Manuel Albares

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, visited the European Institute of the Mediterranean today and took part in a meeting of its Board of Trustees–Business Council together with Jaume Duch, the Catalan government’s minister for EU and Foreign Action.
The minister, who serves as first vice-president of the governing board of the IEMed consortium, made a brief tour of its headquarters, located in the modernist Casa Antoni Roger building in Barcelona, and greeted its staff.
Afterwards, he spoke at the opening of a meeting of the Board of Trustees–Business Council, made up of companies and partner organizations collaborating with IEMed. The meeting focused on the current regional context and the opportunities offered by the Pact for the Mediterranean approved in late 2025 in Barcelona. The 2026 action plans were also presented, along with proposals for 2027
