Discussing green transition at the COP27’s Mediterranean Pavilion
14 November 2022 | Corporate news
For the first time in history, COP27 (6-18 November 2022) hosts a Mediterranean Pavilion, seeking to highlight both the pressing challenges facing the region and the innovative solutions already developed for a region seen as one of the most threatened by climate change.
The pavilion, promoted by the Union for the Mediterranean, the PRIMA Foundation, and UNEP-MAP, together with a group of competent organizations and a scientific committee, hosts numerous activities and brought together key players from our region.
In this context, the IEMed organised the debate “Towards decarbonised economies: a joint Euro-Mediterranean endeavour, against all odds” on 11 November 2022 to offer different perspectives on climate change and to promote green growth and the energy transition in the Mediterranean in a context complicated by the war in Ukraine. The event included the insights of the experts Laura Basagni, Emad Adly, and Josep Canals-Molina. It was presented by Grammenos Mastrojeni Senior Deputy Secretary General of the UfM, and Senén Florensa, Executive President of the IEMed, and moderated by Roger Albinyana, Managing Director of the IEMed.
