Up to 817 experts from academia and think tanks as well as actors from the institutional, political and civil society fields from the 43 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region have answered the Euromed Survey 2018.
The survey, prepared by the IEMed annually since 2009, takes stock of the milestones and shortcomings of Euro-Mediterranean policy.
Entitled “Changing Euro-Mediterranean Lenses”, this year’s survey takes a turn to the usual Euro-Mediterranean approach, focusing mainly on the reality of the southern shore, asking instead the respondents if and how the current situation in Europe has affected bilateral relations with the Mediterranean countries and whether the influence of the European bloc in the region has diminished.
Experts, both from academia and from think tanks and the media, represented 54% of respondents, while 25% correspond to representatives of civil society (especially NGOs) and 21% to representatives of governments and regional and international organisations.
