EuroMeSCo has been ranked the seventh best network of think tanks in the world, according to the Global Go To Think Tank Index Report, prepared annually by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme of the University of Pennsylvania.

EuroMeSCo also appears on the best policy studies category with “Role of Russia in the Middle East and North Africa Region. Strategy or Opportunism?“, a Joint Policy Study published on 2019.

EuroMeSCo, which now has 104 research institutes and centres specialised in politics and security from 29 countries of the Union for the Mediterranean, is a network coordinated since 2010 by the IEMed.

Since then, the network has undergone renewed drive through meetings, workshops, seminars and annual conferences focused on key issues concerning the changes experienced in the Mediterranean region and through the production of publications and the invigoration of the network through the website, newsletter and social networks.

Since 2015 EuroMeSCo has strengthened its capacity for research, dialogue and dissemination, as a result of the EU-funded project “Euro-Mediterranean Political Research and Dialogue for Inclusive Policy-Making Processes”.

The network has started 2018 with a brand new website which offers invaluable features for the Euro-Mediterranean policy and academic community. User friendly navigation enables to easily access all relevant publications and network´s events on specific themes, as well as to identify key experts or follow the activities of the network.

The IEMed in the classification ranking

The European Institute of the Mediterranean also appears in the 2019 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. Specifically in the section of best use of social networks and in the ranking both of ‘best think tanks of Western Europe’ and ‘best institutional collaboration involving two or more think tanks’.
