Are you a young researcher from the Euro-Mediterranean region? Are you interested in exploring the green and digital transition nexus with economic, migration, and security developments? Submit your application for EuroMeSCo Youth Forum 2021 (October 2021, Barcelona), the Deadline to apply is 18 July 2021, 23:59hrs CET.

The Euromed Young Researchers Forum is part of the Euromed Young Researchers Lab, an initiative of the EuroMeSCo: Connecting the Dots project, co-funded by the European Union and the European Institute of the Mediterranean. The Euromed Young Researchers Lab aims to boost the research capacities of young experts across the Mediterranean, give visibility and recognition to their work, strengthen exchanges, and stimulate research on common interest issues, particularly in the fields of economic development, migration, and security.

Conceived and funded by the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), the EuroMeSCo Youth Forum gathers over 40 participants from across the Mediterranean and its neighbouring regions every year. Participants have the opportunity to exchange with policy-makers, practitioners and other young experts on key issues in the Euro-Mediterranean area and contribute to policy shaping in the region.

Organized around three parallel Working Group Sessions, the Forum offers a chance to share your experiences and issue concrete proposals on relevant topics. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to engage in an open exchange with policy-makers as well as green/digital practitioners and entrepreneurs to share ideas and experiences. The Forum will end with two parallel trainings on infographics and data visualization tools to boost your research communication skills, as well as techniques and methodologies to write impactful policy briefs.

This year´s edition of the Forum will be about “Green and Digital Transition in the Euro-Mediterranean: Youth Connecting the Dots Across Economic Development, Migration and Security”. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed the urgency of accelerating the green and digital transition in an increasingly geopolitically volatile Euro-Mediterranean region. This Forum invites young experts to contribute to the reflection on the opportunities and bottlenecks as well as the costs and benefits of these transitions relevant for policy-makers in the fields of migration and security, as well as to develop strategies that ensure the close alignment of these transitions with the region’s social and economic development goals.

The aim of this call is to select up to 40 young researchers and students from the Euro-Mediterranean region and its neighbouring regions to participate and actively intervene in the Youth Forum by presenting their research proposals. Participants will be selected based on their CV and short research proposal.

The candidates shall:
