On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Barcelona Process / 5th Regional Forum of the UfM, the Union for the Mediterranean dedicates a special focus to the cooperation of civil society. A virtual civil society conference is held on 25 November with the aim of showcasing successful initiatives and projects by relevant actors that promote Euro-Mediterranean cooperation on the ground on a daily basis.

Twenty-five years later, civil society actors continue to work hard on the ground, crossing borders and innovating to meet the key challenges facing the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Among the participants are Josep Ferré, Director General of the IEMed, who explains the experience of the Spanish network of the Anna Lindh Foundation for Intercultural Dialogue, and the President of the IEMed Delegate Commission, Senén Florensa, who moderates a session dedicated to the prospects for boosting Euro-Mediterranean cooperation by civil society.

The Civil Society Forum takes place in the framework of the V UfM Regional Forum, which brings together the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the UfM Member States on 27 November 2020 to reaffirm their commitment to the principles of the UfM Process. Barcelona.
