Presentation, in Barcelona, of the Project “Strengthening the Capacity of the Actors Working for Equality” within the 3rd High-level Conference by the UfM on Women’s Empowerment

NEXT

The third high-level conference organised by the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) on women’s empowerment –entitled “Women for the Mediterranean, driving force for stability and development” – brings together in Barcelona key actors in the fight for gender equality in the region, including political leaders. Discussions revolve around urgent and critical issues in the Euro-Mediterranean region, where women have a very relevant role to play, including: women as drivers for sustainable development and inclusive growth; women as key actors against extremism and radicalization; women, mobility and migration. 

Framed within the event, representatives of the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation present the Axis 1 of the project “Women for the future in the Mediterranean”, entitled “Strengthening the capacity of the actors working for equality”. The project is part of the Priority Solidarity Fund and is funded by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Led by the IEMed, the first Axis focuses on the political and social participation of women at local, regional and Euro-Mediterranean levels, and the fight against violence against women.
