The second UfM Regional Forum organized in the margins of the meeting of the UfM Ministers of Foreign Affairs, is dedicated to youth. The overall theme is “Mediterranean in Action: Youth for Stability and Development”. One of the panels of this conference, entitled “The future starts now: youth at the heart of the Mediterranean Agenda”, is organised by the IEMed and EuroMeSCo.

The panel explores the aspirations and problems of Mediterranean young people, as well as the promotion of their public participation and labor inclusion in order to avoid their marginalization and, in the worst case, their radicalization. The session also examines how to strengthen regional cooperation and Integration on youth-related issues.

Chaired by Senén Florensa, Executive President of the IEMed, the event features several prominent experts from EuroMeSCo, as well as representatives of multilateral institutions, governments, business organizations, youth associations and think tank experts from various countries.

The following report sets out the main issues raised during the discussions, including the recommendations for policy-makers and stakeholders on how to address and improve the situation of youth.
