19 November 2014. From 18:30 | Workshop | Spanish | IEMed, BarcelonaThe social sciences in general, and migration in particular, are an extremely extensive and complex field of study that poses great difficulties when approached from a scientific perspective.
The conference aims to examine the wide variety of scientific research methods required by the complexity of the social sciences as well as migration. Along with an examination of the respective strengths and weaknesses, some examples highlight the complementarity and possibilities of combining different types of techniques in order to meet the objectives of the research.
Pablo Pumares, professor at the University of Almeria, gives the lecture “Different methods to study international migrations in the Mediterranean. Looking for complementarity” at the IEMed in a new session of the cycle “Interpreting the Mediterranean today” in collaboration with the Master in Immigration Management (UPF).”Interpreting the Mediterranean today” is a series of conferences to understand and reflect on the Mediterranean region.
