Concert in Tetouan, Mediterranean Capital of Culture 2026
7 July 2026. From 19:30 | Cultural activity | Instituto Cervantes (Tetouan)A concert in Tetouan featuring “Ensemble Mediterrània”, a group of musicians from different Mediterranean countries, within the framework of the Anna Lindh Foundation’s initiative of Mediterranean Capitals of Culture 2026.
The ensemble is a musical initiative led by singer and clarinetist Carola Ortiz, accompanied by multi-instrumentalists Omar Kattan and Àlex Guitart. From Syria and Türkiye to the Catalan and Mediterranean coasts, this outstanding trio invites audiences to an acoustic journey through the sounds, rhythms and cultures that have flourished around our shared sea.
The concert brings together musicians of diverse origins to embody the values of exchange and mutual understanding.
This event is co-organised with the Anna Lindh Foundation and with the support of the EU. It will also be the closing event of the Aula Mediterrània Summer School in Morocco (7-10 July 2026) organised by IEMed, the Government of Catalonia’s Delegation in North Africa, and the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD), in collaboration with the Abdelmalek Essaadi University of Tetouan.
