Against the backdrop of challenges that we are facing today, such as the war in Ukraine and its implications, which have rekindled the discussion around a “geopolitical” EU, it is imperative to explore the implications of this concept specifically in relation to the MENA region.

EuroMeSCo, the main network of research centers and think tanks in the Euro-Mediterranean area, is focusing on this issue in the contents of its annual conference, labeled “The quest for a more “geopolitical” EU foreign policy in the MENA region”.

Founded in 1996, in the aftermath of the Barcelona Declaration, the network currently comprises 115 institutes from 30 European and Southern Mediterranean countries.

This event is taking place within the framework of the project EuroMeSCo: Connecting the Dots, co-funded by the European Union and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), and coinciding with the Spanish presidency of the council of the EU.

Full agenda soon on the EuroMeSCo’s website.

The EuroMeSCo Annual Conference also includes two official side events on the 9th October:
