Multi-Level Engagement in the Mediterranean

This event follows the Chatham House rules.
Christian Danielsson is a Swedish diplomat who has worked at the European Commission since 1995, when he joined as a member of Commissioner Anita Gradin’s cabinet and director of The European Enlargement Department. From 2008 to 2010, Danielsson was a permanent representative for Sweden at the European Union before becoming Deputy Secretary General of the European Commission in 2011. In 2013 he became Director General of Enlargement and since 2015 he has been Director-General of Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR). Prior to joining the Commission, he worked for the Swedish diplomatic service.
