Objectives

The project seeks to foster relations of collaboration between Mediterranean civil society networks

“A Sea of Words” is aimed at the production of short stories, focused on intercultural dialogue in the Mediterranean area, with the objective of illustrating the different sensibilities and realities that coexist in the Euro-Mediterranean region, from the point of view of the young people who live there.

Moreover, the project seeks to foster relations of collaboration between Mediterranean civil society networks, and to encourage the creation of stable and lasting spaces of debate and exchange between such networks and the citizenship. The specific objectives of the project are:

  • Encourage young literary production to promote understanding of the environments and the contemporary political, social, cultural and economic complexities of the countries of the Mediterranean, starting with the “particular” and the “individual”.
  • Create opportunities for meetings to foster debate, raise awareness and mobilise public opinion in terms of dialogue between Mediterranean countries.
  • Foster the development of trans-national social networks.
  • Promote knowledge of the activities of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF).
  • Tighten the links of collaboration between the national networks of the ALF.
