IV North Africa Business & Development Forum

The IEMed and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Shipping support the 4th North Africa Business and Development Forum (NABD). On 24th and 25th January the meeting will bring together in Barcelona businesspeople, private investors, economists and politicians from western Mediterranean countries to encourage investment in the Maghreb.

Barcelona welcomes the EU-Turkey Annual
Conference

Senén Florensa, Mehmet Aydin and José MontillaThe President of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Catalan Government, José Montilla, opened last 12th of January the 7th editon of the Annual EU-Turkey Conference, organized by the IEMed in Barcelona with Istanbul Policy Center collaboration. For two days, politicians, academists, experts and journalists analysed relations between the EU and Turkey. The State Minister for Religious Issues of Turkey, Mehmet Aydin, participated in the conference.

the role of imams in Europe

Cover of the issue No. 12 of afkar/ideasThe role of the Islamic religious leaders in the Muslim communities that live in Europe is discussed at great length in the latest edition of the magazine afkar/ideas. The report has contributions from experts like Jordi Moreras, Mohsine Elahmadi, Abdelmajid Charfi and Juan José Tamayo.

This quarterly magazine published in Spanish and French by the IEMed and Estudios de Política Exterior also includes articles by distinguished contributors, which analyze subjects such as the situation in the Middle East after a tumultuous 2006, irregular immigration from Senegal and the possibilities of economic integration for the Maghreb.
