From October 19 to 21
Dialogue between the Euro-Mediterranean youth for
the Alliance of Civilisations
Over
a hundred of young people from 35 Euro-Mediterranean
countries will debate on how to improve the dialogue
and the mutual knowledge between European and Mediterranean
countries, as well as between the western world and
the Muslim world, in the EIMed from October 19 to
21. It is organised by the EIMed, the Association
of the United Nations in Spain, the Groupement d’Études
et Recherches sur la Méditerranée
(Morocco) and the Anna Lindh Foundation for the Dialogue
between Cultures. This second edition of the
Euro-Med Youth Workshop wants to present a final declaration to the
UN High Level Group in charge of the elaboration of the Alliance of Civilisations
strategy.

Conferences “Sustainable
and responsible tourism in the Mediterranean"
These conferences are taking place on November 10
and 11 and are organised within the framework of
the Campus Universitari de la Mediterrània
(CUM) - Mediterranean University Campus-. Their aim
is to reflect and debate on the role of tourism as
a cooperation and development element in the Mediterranean,
an area where tourism faces nowadays the challenge
to become an important resource and asset for the
social and economic development. This year, the invited
country is Morocco, one of the territories with the
most important tourist potentials of this region.

winners of the Journalism Prize 2006 of Euromed
Heritage

Nasser, from Jordan, and Damiano Laterza, from
Italy, a MEDA country and a EU country respectively,
are the winners of the Journalism Prize 2006
of Euromed Heritage, an international journalism
contest which focuses on the conservation and
promotion of cultural heritage. The prizes
will be given throughout a special ceremony
during the Euromed Heritage forum, which will
be held in Istanbul on October 27, 2006.
