presents his latest book on al-Qaeda

02/02/10- The different historical phases experienced by al-Qaeda and the reasons for its possible current decline form the basis of Les neuf vies d’Al-Qaida, the latest book by Professor Jean-Pierre Filiu of the Institut d’Études Politiques in Paris. The Jordanian Ahmad Massadeh,
Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean

28/01/10- The Jordanian diplomat Ahmad Massadeh has been appointed Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). Ambassador of Jordan to the EU, this diplomat will direct the Permanent Secretariat of the UfM based in Barcelona. The IEMed would like to congratulate him and express its willingness to contribute to the tasks of this international body, in keeping with the work it has developed since 1989 to bring the two shores of the Mediterranean closer together.
