Guest country: MOROCCO
Vilanova i la Geltrú (Garraf, Barcelona), November 10-11, 2006
Conference organized in the framework of the University Campus of the Mediterranean
(CUM), aimed at the reflection and the debate on the role of tourism as a development
and cooperation element in the Mediterranean, an area where tourism faces nowadays
the challenge of becoming an important asset for the social and economic development.
The country which has been invited this year is Morocco, one of the territories
with most tourist potential in the region.
This one is the fourth edition of this event, after the three previous conferences
on tourist and development cooperation, held in Valencia (2001), Barcelona (2003)
and Vilanova i la Geltrú (2005). This year, we expect to consolidate it
as an international meeting on tourist and development cooperation in the Mediterranean,
which gathers professionals of international institutions, public administrations,
universities, research and training centres, tourist promotion agencies, companies
of the tourist sector, specialised consultancies, NGOs and fair trade and solidarity
organisations.
